Paying your Personal Assistant

You need to agree with your PA how often they will be paid. You can use guidance provided by a payroll service if you use one. A monthly time sheet may be best, by which you and your personal assistant can keep a record of hours worked.

An employer support service will support you with every step of this process, until you feel comfortable and confident with managing the PA salaries.

You may find that once you have got used to this system you will want to adapt it to meet your own requirements. You may choose to do the payroll yourself. An employer support service can advise you of your legal requirements as an employer, and of recommended payroll packages.

If you wish to do this your self you can find information on the Inland Revenue website.
