What is the 'Payroll Service'?
Hereford Centre of Independent Living offers a non-profit making payroll service that supports around 70 clients. This service operates on a monthly basis and involves both completing the payroll, (e.g. sending wage slips, copies of timesheets etc), and supporting employers with relevant employment legislation. We offer full support, explanation and advice to Service Users about how the service can work best for them and we have over 40 years payroll service within the team.
How does it work?
- Employers initially receive an information booklet regarding the payroll service which contains all the necessary forms (such as monthly timesheets, employee information forms etc). This booklet is available here to download as a .pdf file.
- Following this, employers send in monthly timesheets for their employees.
- This information is used to calculate the employee's gross pay, and then payroll deduct the correct amount of Tax and National Insurance from the employee.
- Each month, the payroll service provides the employer with wage slips for each employee, detailing the exact amount of net pay to be paid (and a duplicate for their records), and copies of the corresponding timesheets.
- Every quarter (June, September, December and March) payroll calculates and informs the employer of the Tax and National Insurance that needs to be paid to the Inland Revenue.
- At the end of the tax year, the payroll service also submits the correct year end documentation on your behalf.
