HCIL is an organisation of disabled people, controlled by disabled people. Our focus is Independent Living. By this we mean the services and support that enable disabled and older people to have control and choice over where they live and what they do, including being able to work or volunteer, choosing where they live and with whom, having access to fulfilling and rewarding social lives with family and friends and leisure opportunities. Independent living is about enabling disabled people to have the opportunity to participate fully in society on equal terms with non-disabled people. Our vision:A world of difference where individuality is valued and everyone has the opportunity to achieve and to give. Our mission is:‘Supporting disabled/older people to have control and choice.
