Public
Consultation Events
The way Day Opportunities are provided
in Herefordshire is going to change. We need you to get involved and
give us your views to mak sure we provide you with the right services in
Herefordshire.
Herefordshire's current day
services funded by adult social care are very traditional, may not
provide sufficient choices for people or the most appropriate
support to gain maximum independence.
As a response to this,
Herefordshire Council is considering 5 models of good practice,
identified from other comparable authorities, to look at meeting the
needs of Herefordshire's older population.
We need to hear as many views as
we can about these models so we are setting up a public consultation
event in an area close to you.
Please see the Dates and Venues

10 Years of HCIL!
Herefordshire Centre of Independent Living is celebrating its 10 year
anniversary. It is a voluntary sector organisation which, through a
variety of services, supports disabled and older people to have control
and choice over their lives and to maximise their independence. HCIL has
grown from 1 member of staff (Marion Tweed-Rycroft - pictured left
holding the flowers) supporting a handful of service users to now
employing over 90 members of staff expanding to 2 offices and supporting
over 180 service users across its various services.
New
Office for
The Independent Living
Service Team....
On Thursday 1st February, the ILS team
moved to Widemarsh Street as the team had grown so much that there
was not enough room at Rockfield Road. On Monday 3rd March, Paul
Keetch, MP came to the office to meet some of the service users and
to look around.
Please see our contact page for the address and telephone number.

As well as offering a Payroll Service to our Service Users who are in receipt of a Direct Payment, Herefordshire Centre of Independent Living also offers a service to Voluntary Sector Organisations. We are a professional, efficient and friendly team with over 40 years' payroll experience and
operate a fully computerised payroll service which can be tailored to meet specific needs. As a charity, we fully appreciate the pressures which voluntary sector organisations are under - too much to do in too little time with insufficient funds!!!
Many voluntary sector organisations feel vulnerable and are not confident about whether they comply with ever changing UK statutory payroll legislation and year end requirements.
Our costs vary depending on the level of service required - however a typical example for an organisation with 7 salaried employees would be as follows:
