Colin Javens (Chair)
Date of appointment: 23rd June 2008
Colin sustained a spinal injury in an accident some years ago.
He subsequently set up a charitable trust, raising funds for
disabled people in Africa by speaking about his experiences of
travelling overland to Cape Town from his home in Herefordshire.
Colin has skills in public speaking, marketing and running a
charity.

Dorothy Crook
Date of Appointment 23rd February 2007
I have experience in running a business but I am now retired. I
am the Chair of the Marches Polio Group that was formed in
September 2003 and covers the whole of Shropshire and
surrounding districts. I am also part of the Expert Patient
Program in Herefordshire. I can offer SIL experience in running
a business, recruiting and managing staff and first hand
experience of disability.

Maggie O' Neill
Date of Appointment 5th March 2003
Due to having polio since I was 5 years old, I now use a
wheelchair all the time. My employment background is within a
secretarial role. Within this role I was responsible for
arranging the contents of documents of several major contracts.
The experience that I can bring to SIL is around disabled people
and the barriers they face and experience in employing and
managing staff.
